Ritz Barbecue sits right next to the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market on the grounds of--what else?--the Allentown Fairgrounds, home to--you guessed it--the Great Allentown Fair. The farmers market, which looks a little dump-like and scary from the outside but is clean and nice on the inside, is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. We're usually there on a Thursday and sometimes eat at the Ritz before heading into the market.
Kind of makes you want to order the vegetarian platter, doesn't it?
Waiting to be seated. Sometimes I ask if I can take a picture and sometimes I just forge ahead. I remember holding the camera at arms length above my head and taking one photo, looking at it in the camera, and taking a second shot. I must have been so alarmed at the look on the face of the guy in the foreground that I failed to hold the camera level for the second picture.
As we walked by on the way to our seats, I kept my eyes on my shoes and tried to look humble and non-threatening. We lived.
Menu artwork points for that cone:
Waiting for our food:
The clock behind Mr. Scary reads 12:35 in the first two pix, and 12:45 in the fourth picture. This clock outside must have been running slow. I know we can't order, wait for our food, and eat in just nine minutes. It takes us at least eleven!
