Back in '06 there was still a ferry service between Bar Harbor, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Our motel was only three miles or so from the ferry landing where The Cat (I love saying "The Cat") docked in Bar Harbor. We got there around six-thirty AM and drove on about seven:
We made ourselves comfortable with some coffee:
We went our separate ways for awhile, only to discover we'd both settled in the lounge for the in-flight movie. You can just see Sandi's blue jacket and the top of her head on the left.
The Cat took less than three hours to make the trip a conventional ferry takes more than six hours to make. At speeds of up to 55 miles an hour, it makes a whole lot of cool noise and throws up a big bunch of water in its wake:
Off the boat in Canada and right onto Route 3, aka, the Lighthouse Route , along the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
Outta time! Back to the car!
