Skoogy's.

One of our favorite rides is to the north and the east of us on the New Jersey side of the Delaware. We might cross into Jersey over the  Frenchtown/Uhlerstown bridge, cross I-78 in Clinton, and end up at the Washington Diner in Washington, NJ. Or we could eat on picnic tables overlooking the Pequest River at Hot Dog Johnnies, in Buttzvile, NJ. But we almost always find our way to Skoogy's in Belvidere for coffee and a sweet.

Belvidere sits along the Delaware right where the Pequest empties into the bigger river and across a narrow bridge from Riverton on the Pennsylvania side. Just below the bridge, at the top of the boat ramp is, thank God, the porta-potty. There's been a few times, usually in the winter when some of our other options are closed, when we've had to fly into the parking lot, tires squealing and gravel flying, to fight over who gets to use it first.

These pictures were taken probably eight years apart; that's a 2000 Honda in the first picture and a 2009 Honda in the second.

Remember to bring bread for the geese.
