One of our top ten day trips, up 611 through Easton and onto the Scenic Route along the river. Use the facilities at the picnic area just north of Lafayette College:
Head north to the Delaware Water Gap area. You can venture out on the walking bridge in Portland, scaring Sandi with bridge-failure stories, and then, by way of begging for forgiveness, take her to the bakery next to the Delaware Water Gap Diner:
You can walk the Appalachian Trail, spend time at the excellent riverside rest area on the Jersey side, go to The Niagara of Pennsylvania (note: slight exaggeration alert), and drive the spectacular River Road through Shawnee, visiting the Shawnee General Store along the way. But you must end up at the Delaware Water Gap/Interstate 80 Visitors Center with the "green before green was a religion" rooftop garden.
And, they have excellent facilities!
