About once a month, summer or winter, good weather and bad, we seem to end up at Lake Nockamixon, eating a picnic at a lakeside table (weather permitting) or just eating in the car and watching the action at the marina.
The name Nockamixon comes from the Native American nocha-miks-ing, variously interpreted as "place of soft soil", "at the great swamp", or, most likely, the "lake of the Wawa turkey hoagie."
