Day Trip.

If you've a whole day, here's a good one: cross the Delaware at New Hope and take 29 South through Trenton. Take I-195 across Jersey to the Garden State Parkway North. Get off at NJ36 and take it across the Atlantic Highlands area to Sandy Hook (see 8/5 post). Use the bathroom at the Visitor's Center.

From Sandy Hook get on 36 again as it heads south along the Atlantic through Rumson, Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, and Deal. Get creeped out in Asbury Park and then head to Ocean Grove. Use the superb rest rooms near the auditorium.

Go through Belmar, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, and Manasquan to get to Point Pleasant beach and the boardwalk. Use the bathroom in the arcade.

Get back on 195 again to head home. Sandi will be nodding off next to you. Wake her up to use the Wawa bathroom at the Six Flags/Jackson exit.
