While we were there, there was a wildfire in the foothills behind Entiat that made for an interesting sky. The Columbia River originates in British Columbia, Canada and travels south and west and then a long ways south through the Tri-Cities and Umatilla, Oregon, where it turns wholly west, becomes the border of Oregon and Washington, and finally dumps into the Pacific. Here we are looking downriver to the south; the fire was to the west and south of Entiat and we are seeing the brown and gold smoke.
