Giant Chicken.

After you've had your hot sausage sandwich (me) and potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream (Sandi), it's time for the animal barns. Best to bring your strong stomach to the fair.

The last building in a long row is the poultry exhibit. Think 90 decibels of cockle doodle doo!, kyuk yuk yuk yuk!, rheeeeee!, chika chee chicka chee chee!, and bucka bucka bucka screeee!  And that's just the children. The birds are even louder.

Outside the poultry exhibit:

According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the world's oldest chicken, a Gallus domesticus by the name of Harold, died of heart failure in a nursing home outside of Joplin, Missouri at the age of sixteen, surrounded by a clutch of his loved ones. Sixteen? This guy looks to be at least forty.
