Nobska Point Lighthouse, Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

The waters around Cape Cod have been very hazardous to the health of seafarers, especially before the Cape Cod Canal was finished in 1916. There have been hundreds and hundreds of shipwrecks caused by the currents and the rocks around the Cape, and eighteen lighthouses were built to aid in navigating away from dangerous waters.

Nobska Point Light is on Vineyard Sound at the southernmost part of the western end of the Cape, about a mile from the little town of Woods Hole, and just three miles (as the gull flies) from Martha's Vineyard. Here's Sandi sitting and, as she describes it, "soaking in the sights and sounds."
