Cat Show.

Once every year or so we find a cat show. They're usually held in a hotel ballroom, but we've been to shows in community centers, a roller rink, and even a Lu Lu Shriners Temple in Plymouth Meeting, and we go to gawk at the people as much as the cats. Let's just say both the humans and the felines are of a special breed.

This first group of pictures is from a show we saw on Cape Cod in 2005, I think in a high school gymnasium.

There's typically five or six judging rings, each surrounded by ten or fifteen exhibition cages. The owners bring their cats up when called and shove them into a cage, and the judge takes them out one at a time and puts them through their paces.

As you can imagine, the Sandi High-Squeal Alert is on constant standby at these shows.
