We left the River Hebert and drove around seventy miles south and then southwest to the tip of a peninsula that juts out into the northeastern arm of the Bay of Fundy, home to the Cape D'or lighthouse and some really magnificent scenery. The road after leaving the highway was three miles of washboardy dirt and gravel but it was worth every rattle. Here we are walking down after parking in the upper lot.
And here's what greets you when you get to the crest. There's a lighthouse (built in 1922), a guesthouse and a restaurant.
Oh, it's rugged.

Note sign:
In the upper right corner of this photo you can see a white railing next to the road up to the parking area. Right across the road from that railing you can just see the sign in the picture above. You DO want to take the signs seriously as that's about 400 feet from sign to water.
The walk back up.
