Rock Harbor Jetty.

This little jetty, just to the left of the boat ramp and channel, is normally crawling with people this time of night and this time of year (September). It's very odd that there was almost no one there that evening in '09, though it's possible the forecast and the look of the late afternoon sky fooled people into thinking the sunset was going to be just ordinary. It wasn't. You can still see the channel-marking "trees" but no boats; the tide is too far out for anything very big to get in or out.
